1974 Triumph Trident in Santa Fe, New Mexico

$1,900

1974 Triumph T150V Trident (5 speed) 15767 miles Here is a very clean example of this popular bike. A nice unmolested example. I bought this a few years ago from a car collector who just had it statically on display in his garage. He bought it from the prior owner who, supposedly, did a mild resto on it but I have no paperwork to authenticate any history. It is being sold as a nice original because, in my mind, it was never fully restored. The paint is near flawless and if it has been repainted, it’s an excellent job – I can’t find any flaws in it. The rest of the bike is not polished up, rather showing its age and patina. Nothing looks rigged under the seat and all the lights and signals work. The battery was recently replaced. I just put new Dunlop K series tires on it and they have only one ride around the block on them. I did this in November. New petcocks. I also just installed English made peashooter pipes for the sound and look. You do get the original exhaust pipes that are still in good condition. The first picture shows the original pipes. I have the owner’s manual and shop manual too.Front turn signals work but the rear are acting up and not always engaging.....likely  a simple connection issue such as a bad ground, as they worked in the past. Reinforces the whole old bike syndrome and....dare I say, Lucas, the prince of darkness! Retested the rest, horn works, front signals and headlamp all work fine. Last summer I took this bike on several long day trips in the mountains here – 3 hour rides at 7000 to 10000 feet. Naturally it ran a bit rich at those altitudes but it pulled strong and sounded great.  It always draws a crowd at the local Moto cafe meet-ups.  So, this bike does leak oil as many of my other British bikes do. These engines have so many seams!  I’m getting tired of maintaining so many bikes and have no room to navigate my garage.  I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff so please do ask questions. All sales are final. All my bikes are 50 plus years old. Anything can break or fail at anytime.  There is a certain amount of fettling required with any old bike and you have to learn the starting procedures, the shut down procedures, the “do” ,“do nots” and “nevers” of any model of bike. FYI any bit of exhaust smoke in the video is just from sitting all winter....cleared up shortly thereafter. Typical of any old bike sitting all winterClear New Mexico title in my name and anything extra that I find in my shop that goes with the bike, such as the original pipes, you will get them.  If you are local, you are welcome to come see the bike. I have worked with many shippers and will help load the bike. The best but slowest is Haul Bikes. Otherwise many folks use U-ship where various carriers bid on your job, or, I have some names of reliable folks I have used as well. I can hold the bike for 4 weeks while you arrange picking up. If you come in person to pick up, Santa Fe, NM, is a destination spot and wonderful town to visit – plan a long weekend around it.NOTE - I WILL CANCEL BIDDERS WITH LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACK. PLEASE REQUEST TO BID PRIOR TO BIDDING. MANY OTHER BIDDERS LOOK AT 0 FEEDBACK AS SHILL BIDDERS AND WILL STEER CLEAR OF BIDDING. I'VE BEEN BUYING AND SELLING ON EBAY A LONG TIME AND HAVE SEEN ALL FORMAT OF SCAMMERS.
